HBOT combines increased pressure with 100% oxygen, raising the oxygen dissolved in your blood. That oxygen reaches tissues throughout the body, helps supply areas that need it, and supports the body's natural repair processes.

What does the chamber feel like?

Our hard-shell chambers are transparent, so you can see out and staff can see you, with two-way communication throughout. You can rest, listen to music, or nap. The most common sensation is ear pressure during pressurization, similar to an airplane descent.

Are there side effects?

Most people tolerate HBOT well. The most common effect is temporary ear or sinus pressure; some feel mildly tired after early sessions. Your physician will review all risks and confirm HBOT is appropriate for you before you begin.

Do you take insurance?

Sync Hyperbaric is an out-of-network facility, so payment is due at the time of service. That doesn't necessarily mean your insurance won't pay — it means we don't file the claim for you. For FDA-recognized medical indications, we provide an itemized superbill you can submit to your insurer yourself for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Whether you're reimbursed, and how much, is up to your plan and is never guaranteed. Treatment for recovery, wellness, and other non-covered uses is self-pay.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Yes. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is generally an eligible medical expense under HSA and FSA accounts, and we accept HSA/FSA payment. Keep your receipt and, where applicable, your superbill for your records.

Do I need a doctor's order to book sessions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. HBOT at Sync Hyperbaric is a medical treatment and always requires a physician's order. If you don't have one, our consult process includes a physician evaluation to determine whether HBOT is appropriate for you.

Which chamber should I choose?

Accepted Answer

The single sit-up chamber is our standard private session. The lay-down chamber lets you recline fully flat — a good fit after surgery or for longer sessions. The double chamber lets a companion treat alongside you, which many first-timers find reassuring. Our team can help you choose during your consult.
